Are you a mom? Are you Catholic? Are you busy? You are a Busy Catholic Mom too!

January 23, 2014 Posted by Shannon

Do you ever feel the need to be a Supermom?  To have it all together?  To have the house clean, a tasty dinner on the table, and your sweet well-behaved children greeting their father with a sweet smile.  All the while, having a faith-filled glow on your face?

The reality is that this isn’t entirely possible.  In fact, that perfection is impossible in this life.  It’s BCMsquareimpossible because we, as moms, hold ourselves to this incredibly high, picturesque, but unrealistic, standard.  We look at other moms we know and we see them all put together in the latest styles, envisioning them in their immaculate house, blissfully playing Candy Land on the floor with their sweet children.  And then we look at our own lives, with our screaming children, messy house, dinner running behind, and we throw up our hands in frustration.

We are busy moms!  What time isn’t spent picking up the random toy or feeding another snack to an ever hungry child is often spent in the minivan rushing between soccer practice and dance class.  I personally confess to throwing out spelling words at stoplights as we drive from one place to the next because who has time for homework too?  And I have spent so many hours with my rear end in that drivers’ seat that if my car was a plane, I would have logged enough hours to fly the Concorde.

Then, if you try to grow in your faith in the midst of it all – both as an example to your children and to bolster your own faith life – you may find yourself wondering how to do it all.  How do we live our Catholic faith in the midst of being a busy mom?  Who has time to go to an extra mass, pray the rosary, read the Bible or a devotional, or spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament?

The answer is that you do!  You can be that faith-filled person!

This website is intended to help you juggle your household duties, busy schedules, parenting responsibilities, marriage, and kids’ activities, all the while living your Catholic faith in every moment of your day.

I invite you to take small daily, but constant, steps in the faith on your own lifelong journey toward our Lord.  And maybe you can help me to do the same!

    Hi Sis!
I am so proud of you for creating this website and putting your heart and your faith out there to share! This is a great mission, and one that caters to us modern day martyrs, the busy moms! Thank you for doing this, you are an inspiration to everyone who knows you, and now you are sharing that with those who don’t even know you. I would love to write more, but this busy mom is also a teacher who has to get ready for her students on a Monday morning.
    Love you!

I found you through our mutual friend, Aleena.

I loved the part about having enough frequent flier miles to get a free trip on the Concorde.

    Isn’t that the truth?!

I love your website. It totally encourages me to step up my game with my children and engage in more conversations about our faith with them. I look forward to future posts. By the way, if you ever plan on doing another preschool adoration – myself and I am sure several of my friends would love to bring their preschoolers.
